Samhain Night

In searching for Tarot cards I came a cross a beautiful one from a Fairy Deck that had a picture depicting Samhain. I loved the layout and colors but didn't care for the actual fairy placement and wasn't sure what it even had to do with Samhain. I borrowed the base background concept into this painting and modified it accordingly, like adding the bonfire and the girl and cat.

The weather has been so mild lately here in Northern California that I am definitely ready for autumn. It barely broke 90 degrees today and this has been one of the hottest days of summer so far...

Method: Acrylic and prismacolor on 14x18 inch canvas. Photoshop lens flare enhancement added to the lanterns.
