All I needed to hear was "Tim Burton" and "judging contest".....but then having to draw Johnny Depp as the character just made me pick up my paints and pencils and go to it.
I really can't wait for this film to come out. As Tim Burton is my favorite director and Johnny Depp my favorite actor, most things that they make together grab my attention.
And Mr. Burton, even if you don't pick my work to be in the finalists, just know that I tried really hard to make this painting special and you'll still be my favorite director of all time
Acrylics and color pencil with some water color pencil on 16 x 20 inch canvas.
Aha, so you're the thief who stole my grandma's macrame plant holder! Where to start... I love the rainbow effect of his shades reflecting the lighting or ceiling above him. Nice serpentine detailing on the fireplace mantle. The Lava Lamp casts iridescent shadows on the mantle surround; excellent detail. The texture of his coat (crushed velvet?) is either bark-like or reptilian; either way, its uniqueness makes me want to touch it. Best of all: the contrast between the 18th century dandy and his groovy "descendant" is in keeping with the legacy as Barnabas elicits both hauteur and hawt-ness.
Im digging the hanging plant holder and lava lamp, those are great little touches of the era. Barns looks amazing, you did a great job matching up his looks with that of 70s attire. The ascot is perfect
Thanks so much! I tried to follow all the guidelines they gave.....just to bad it didn't get noticed for the contest. I thought it was good! Glad you like it too
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!! Based on your work and your style, it really speaks to how much you love Tim Burton's work! Just extremely well-done
